Week 10...the PERFORMANCE show!!!! Live and IN person!
So, back from my venture in HOllyweird...the taping, the clapping, the waving, the soaking it all in...
So incredible.
I know all the pro-spoilers have brought you all the goodie goods, so I will just tell you what I think, not so much detail, you already have those, but my gut impressions...because that's what's ALL important, right?!?!!? hee, j/k;)
Ok, see here's the thing. All my 'faves' have since departed...one just last week. I was sad for a bit, but the excitement of knowing I was going to see things first hand for the first time, soon overwhelmed! I had been planning this all summer. And I am so glad I did.
Given the status of my departed faves, I really did come into this show a clean slate. I was excited to see these guys, they are ALL good after all, and really was ready to be wowed by any or all of them. Especially after the commercial event from yesterday; where I got to see how truly nice, cool, and hardworking these folks are.
Anyway...to the taping(maybe;) My opinon (how much I liked them, not the rightness for SN) of the final 5 going in (pre show) was:
1 - Toby
2 - Magni
3 - Dilana
4 - Lukas
5 - Storm
Now this is relevant, because this order CHANGED COMPLETELY by end of show. COMPLETELY.
Here's how it went down...
After a LONG bit preshow stuff, we finally get down to business. Dilana is carried onto stage. Sits down and does her cover. She is quite a trooper! Love her spunk. She sings the heck out of this song(personally I'm not familiar w/the original either). However, crowd I thought from my vantage point(back corner by Dave-where you CAN REALLY gauge the entire house)in the studio was not completely bouncing. But it was fairly well received. Then as spoilers have mentioned...there were lighting difficulties...and IMO, it got AWKWARD! eeks! Anyway, after some AWKWARD cajoling on TLee's part w/Dilana, she finally rips into a Joplin tune which OB:House quickly picks up. They rip it up for about a minute. Unfortunately THIS was the BEST part of her performance, IMO, and it WILL NOT make air, because it was just filler to entertain us, not really part of her set. Anyway, on w/the show, she rips into her Original, and it is fairly rocking. She pogo's all around on her good leg...yadayada. Yay, cheer. I am thinking this LIVE taping thing is pretty cool so far. Comments from Dave/SN seemed medium well. Some critique, some props for being a trooper. Not a tongue bath by any means.
On we go to the Iceman, Mags. I have definitely enjoyed my some Magni this season, so I was fairly excited to see him. Vocally he was REALLY on. This guy just has a great voice. His cover was outstanding, fairly straight up as usual, but totally energetic, and dead on. He then turns in his original, and I am STUNNED at how HARD ROCK it is. Wow, the BASS LINE on this song was PHENOMENAL! Sasha was ON FIRE!!!! Loved the beat, the music. Mags was intense and bringing it. Good job Iceman. I was not disappointed, thus far. I thought, Dilana was good, I liked Magni better by the end of his set. SN had some issues w/the sameness of the set but loved his voice; so it was a mixed critique.
Then… things got KICKED UP… LIKE, 10 BAZILLIOIN notches. Wow, fucking WOW. I REALLY hope the 2nd half of the show translates on TV. I am still in shock.
Because...
The STORM...
...has ARRIVED! OMG Storm Fans, Storm Troopers, et al...You are going to be in Storm HEAVEN this week. Your girl FINALLY brought IT. I mean SHE FUCKING BROUGHT IT! Now, remember, I AM NOT A STORM FAN. I have been fairly meh on her in the past. This week, this changes. First she goes up, and after some surprises (ie: Navarro joining on stage), Storm RIPS through Sufregette City. I normally do not care for covers of this song, but holy heck, I thought this was phenomenal. And Storm was totally able to WORK it w/Dave up there. It was glorious to see.
That said, it had not kicked up to full speed yet. That wasn't until she broke out of her jacket, and started ripping into Ladylike. Now, some of you may have heard her versions on Youtube, Myspace, etc. Well, if you were only MEH on this song before, and don't ‘get’ the spoilers...let me just tell you, what I HEARD and SAW today, WAS NOT what I thought I was going to hear. It fucking blew the roof off! And not to go all cliche on you(but I will!!!!!), it fucking gave me FULL BODY CHILLS. FULL BODY. In waves. I was STUNNED. STUNNED. Storm brought the whole fucking enchilada tonight. So happy for her, and especially all of her fans that have been waiting for this. I think a lot of the rest were calling 'cry wolf' on y'alls… well...the wolf has arrived! And we call her STORM LARGE!!! God that was good. SN loved it. LOVED it. Tommy couldn't even do better than grunt his approval, he was beside himself! I am crossing my fingers this comes across as fabulous on TV, because assuming it does, everyone will FINALLY get it! Stormy is not only gorgeous, she fucking rocks!
So, now that the show is at FULL ALTITUDE, we are cruising, and there will be NO descent! Lukas is up, and, I FINALLY (phew!) get him! Yay! Now, SN and Lukas may not like Bon Jovi fans(personally, they are one of my faves, but oh well!), but Lukas certainly sang the SHIT out of Livin' on a Prayer...his voice was GORGEOUS. He really has a beautiful and glorious voice on this. I turned to my cohorts in spoiler crime after and asked if he always sounds this good in studio. They claimed he does. If this is true, then the TV mix is killing him for the masses IMO. I have no critique of his Bon Jovi tune. I like how he took it stripped down (just electric guitar-he played, and Paul on keyboards, I think), and just sang it. Sang is with just a lovely melodious, strong and powerful voice. So happy I got to hear this. His original, Headspin, I have heard before. I enjoyed this as well. Lukas is quite a showman, I give him his props. He knows how to work the crowd. I will say, I was still riding the Storm high, and I was not quite as awed by his set. And I don't think the audience immediately was as rapt either, but he certainly kept the studio on cruise control at full speed, so the level of the show was maintained, IMO. And holy hell, SN *LOVES* him. I have little doubt, based on their comments, that TLee wants Lukas, straight up, in their band. I think the window for someone else to take this is open only by the slimmest of margins. I really think Lukas really has this all but sewn up based on his feedback from the couch.
Ok, then...
The closer, the Tobster...Fuck, is there ANY Killers song Toby cannot rip the roof off with!?!?!? His Mr Brightside, was fantastic IMO. I love this song, but I also love how perfect Toby makes it. He just is so having fun up there. He does, as SN will later say, bring the FUN back to rock and roll. He proceeds to bring the FUN in his rollicking good time of an Original. I don't know the name of it, but we were ALL singing along by the end. Toby at one point even does a bit of a Tour of the studio, through the crowd and back to the SN riser. He really has the crowd in the PALM of his hand. This set, along w/the preceding 2, were just, they were just SOOOOOOOO good. The energy, wow! Toby closed the show, like the show was meant to be closed. The crowd was BOUNCING full stop. There was no faking it the last 3 sets, and absolutely NO faking it as the studio was simply throbbing w/the energy of it all. Toby brought it home. At the end, I am thinking, ok, I think I like this a little more than Lukas. Maybe, it was that it was the 'closer' I don't know. But the energy was just too good. I also think, while not my fave, Toby is the most natural fit, because of the *FUN* vibe he brings, w/the SN trax, but as I said before, it seems they are set on Lukas. I would say that thin window of opportunity, is only open to the Tobster; it will be up to SN whether they want to open it any further I guess.
Ok the show is over and I have been completely taken off guard by everyone. Really they were all really good, but I think, there were 3 tongue baths that were well deserved as they were at a different level, performance wise. Not taking away from Mags and Dilana, but Lukas, Toby, and especially Storm just took this baby to a higher level. Awesome. So happy I got to see a live show. Greatly recommend!
In the end, this was my opinion of the remaining rockers as I left the show...
1 - Storm
followed by just a fraction of a degree...
2 - Toby
followed by another fraction of a degree...
3 - Lukas
BIG GAP
4 - Magni
5 - Dilana
...looks a bit different, eh?!?!? lol.
On a fun, semi-unrelated note, I did stop by the table outside w/the 3members of OB:house hawking their wares (ie:their individual cd's), Nate, Rafael, and Jim...I bought one of each for myself, and an extra one of Rafael's for my aunt...she *lurves* her some Rafa!!!! They are soooooo sweet! I may just decide to go to a SN show, simply b/c they are opening! I lurve me some OB:House. I made sure and told each of them how awesome they were today, and they were SOOOOOO gracious! Love them. Rafael, especially! Total sweetheart! sooooo cute! lol...And as we were walking out...I passed by Sasha(soooooo HOT!) and told him too, how great they were today!...and he's another sweetheart! sigh...and he smiled at me...*melt*...sigh;)
Ok, thus ends my wee little foray into spoilerhood. Hope you all LOVE the show on Tuesday. I really hope the great stuff comes through on TV. I will definitely comment on any variances. I am truly interested to see what changes and stays the same for me!
Good night/morning to y'alls, wherever you are, whenever you read. Laters gators! *smooch*

Post Week 3...breaking down, TEN dollar style...
Dana - still NOT right for this job, whatever it maybe... However, her fighting spirit has thus far been justly rewarded. Is she capable of making that leap from alleged *pop* show quality to *rock* show quality in time? Most will say know. Y'all maybe right. But, I am venturing to say it will be very entertaining to watch! MPB knew what they were doing sticking this one in w/the sharks...
Dilana - My blind pick at the beginning of this all. I still think she has a very real shot at this gig. She seems to be one of the folks here that truly wants to win. And stylistically, one would assume she is a real possibility with what the band might be looking for. Or, is she simply too cliche? My jury, opinon, etc, is still out on D. I will say this, those that knock her voice, stage presence, etc as one dimensional, etc... Well, for whatever reason, it works for her. She does not make me cringe, though sometimes she makes me think, WTF is she wearing, lol... She seems very much in touch with what she wants to put out there, on stage. At this point, I think she is still a top contender for this gig, the it is VERY early.
Jill - In my opinion, she just comes off as trying too damn hard... wailing through every word. Sometimes on key, sometimes not... I fail to really care about her. In addition, fair or not, she looks carictur-ish... Honestly I don't believe she 'looks' right on the stage. Her presence doesn't elevate her beyond her literal petite size. Maybe that seems callous, but it is my impression. And besides, others that lack literal size, I think do make up for it in presence...
Josh - well, on key or not, this is the one that is currently making my ears bleed. I guess they are bleeding to a perfectly pitched and delivered voice?!?!? Well, my ears are beyond *suziefused*... I guess I.JUST.DON'T.LIKE.HIS.VOICE ...oh well. His whole vibe seems off to me, clenched teeth, r&b vocal stylings seem affected. Still has a nice complexion, and I approve of him letting his facial hair grow in...stuble is the only thing I think he currently has working for him. He does not seem, to me, like he really wants to be there. Maybe it's *evil* MBP, but thats my observation.
Lukas - everybody's favorite love him / hate him little Leprechaun. Proven he has the full pallette of eyeshadow or not, I just don't get this cat. Personally, his stagecraft seems affected to me. His vocals while ok, do not grab me. And yes, I have listened to his off show work. While I think they show more variety than what he has presented on show, it is not enough to make me board this train. But like the *Lord of the Rings* and *Harry Potter*, this guys has enough of a fan base for now, that I doubt I will be missed. Also, per OS:I reports, Lukas seems to be given the royal treatment by the band/judges. Likely he is their current favorite. I would caution, the early favorites last year, did not hold on. But, last year was last year, and Lukas is Lukas, so we will see, we will see... The thing I most like about Lukas, is that I think he is truly here to win. That cannot be discounted, and may hold him through, far more than any other.
Magni - The Iceman has arrived. Starting out with a less than stellar premiere showing, Mags has raised his game almost tenfold in the 2 subsequent outings since. That's impressive. I see a subtle charisma here. Not a jump out and grab you kind, but a, wait a minute, yeah, this guy does ROCK kind of thing. I expect if Magni can maintain a steadiness to his performances and show improvements and increased charisma wk to wk, we may have ourselves an unexpeted(fr wk1) contender.
Patrice - good voice. Still lacks anything that resembles making me want to watch her. She seems like a gifted musician though, and would be interesting, I think to see live. Exciting, I somehow doubt. I would not get on a plane to see this. That's my bottom line.
Phil - dirtyPhil. Well, here is where I get squishy! I am in *lurve* with dirtyPhil. Full stop. First class ticket on this train. I have listened to his back catalogue with Lennex, watched off show performances with the same. So I have an appreciation for him off show. At the same time, the charm that he showed in the wk1 reality episode, yet failed to deliver on in wk 1's show, well it seems to have re-emerged, and Bam! I am hooked. There is something to this guy, and I wouldn't count him out of this competition. Though, and I don't think he is alone in this, I don't think his first motivation to be here is to win. Unlike say, Lukas and Dilana. However, if he meshes w/T Lee and the gang... well, noone really thinks they are quiting their day jobs either. I mean the Voivoid tshirt Jason was sporting on stage w/Mr Ritchie, well, that pretty much tells me that the 2, their individual bands, and a short term partnership with Supernova, can be an acceptable reality. Putting this into perspective, I can imagine myself actually traveling to see Lennex, and certainly to see SN with Phil there, dirty or otherwise...go figure ;)
Ryan - Ok, this is a guy, I am all about being prepared to like. I have just not seen anything to make it happen. I honestly don't have ANY issue with anything he's said, done or otherwise. I don't know the guy personally, so I will not judge his character, nor any of the others. Folks have sworn this guy is both a talented musician and songwriter. For this reason, I really hope he makes it to this part of the competitioin. So while I might appreciate the vision of Mr Star in swim trunks, he seriously needs to bring something to the RS stage, or I will not be able to do anything more than admire his rather handsome mug.
Storm - I do have a feeling this chick is coasting, BIG TIME. There is just a gut feeling I have that we are waiting for this gal to arrive. Either that or she is all hype, and no substance. Somehow, I just don't buy it. I am waiting Stormy! I want to like you. I don't care if you dance to ever rockers song, if you are a total attention ho' or if you are the nicest woman on the face of this earth. I want to see you bring it. And since, somehow, as a northwesterner, I have missed you before now, you've gotta bring it now or I simply won't believe you. I was very intrigued by Storms legion of local fan base, and her off show work. Unfortunately, save wk 1, I have been less than moved since. Patiently waiting for change in weather patterns...
Toby - g'day mate, lol... this is one hot bloke. I was medium warm on him week 1, loved him week 2, and totally wondered WTF by week 3. Inconsistent at best, I want to get on this guys train! lol. Not sure I would travel to Oz to see him, but I would be interested in seeing SN with this guy in front. I like his voice, and the overall package is doable, lol ;) I think, he really needs to dirty it up on stage. I would recommend dying his hair really dark...giving us some contrast with his gorgeous eyes... and TOTALLY letting go on stage. Hold nothing back. His restraint on stage...I am not sure what it is...maybe it's just weird in this studio setting. But Toby seems like he could be a top contender here, I want him to work it! And Toby, the chicks *dig* you... just sayin...
Zayra - Well, miss Janet from another Planet, apparently she is hot, talented, can sing - in non rock genre's granted, and has enough attitude to kick some serious ass. Seriously, if this chick could rock, I would be calling her right now to take this thing. Unfortunately, or not, lol, she does NOT ROCK! Either way, I am interested to see what she will bring next week. Will her detractors be given more ammunition? Or will another solid performance force folks to sit on their hands, mumbling incoherently to themselves? Hee, why does neither possibilty disturb me much? And I call MBP *evil*...

Week 3: Episode 7...Throw Down, rockstar style...
Really glad they had a clinic finally! Vocal training and tips...good one...
I think Lukas is holding out some of this 'vocal chops' as it were...me thinks this boy has something up his sleeve... I actually like the stuff he was having HB do in regards to rearranging...good thing he has a strong backbone, or I have a feeling Paul and Co might talk him out of it...
Love Magni...nice voice!
And I'm glad the rockers have gotten passionate about song selection...but they need to come up w/some sort of system, ala last year...then a few can duke it out or Z is right, someones going to be throwing punches next week...
Speaking of Z, am interested to see if she pulls off whatever the hell she is doing to that REM song...errr! Have y'all counted the BToS during her rehearsal!!??! lol...
I am interested to hear what Josh does w/CAYA...there was a high bar set last year, well and a low bar as it were...he better be towards the higher end or I will just have to keep complimenting his skin...
Jill needs an attitude adjustment...
I actually admired Patrice...but she should have just told Jill, yeah, it's my song, go suck it...it would have seemed more genuine that way...and JIll whined anyway, so it really would not have made a difference...
Storm looks like one of the most mature folks in the house...guess maybe her years have a hand in this...
Lukas has balls letting himself get stuck w/the last song standing...I think it was the right thing for him to do this time though...
Funny, it looked like Toby wanted to be all organized, and noone else was on board...or maybe only half the lot...Josh really set the precedent...again, they really need to come up w/a system...
Anyway, I really felt this episode like these folks are finally there to bring it...can't wait to hear how it all plays out...
on the whispered asides during clinic...lol...editors dream though...make chicks seem bitchy!
Didn't Ryan use air quotes on the friends!?!?? lol...or did I insert them...anyway, I thinks he gets it...
and rewatching, it is so freaking clear they (MBP) are trying to milk the Lukas is controversial stuff, yet he seems well liked in the house...the ones that actually come off bad are the folks whining/bitching about it...last week it was Jenny, this week Jill...
Also, loved how the guys were all out chilling while the chicks were having a throw down in side (Jill/Patrice)...and Phil got the song about being stoned or some such, lol...hmmmmm...he already looks stoned, aka noodly, not sure how that will work out...
I noticed Lukas mentioned there were things about his voice he was not ready to reveal yet...not sure what his deal is, but I have a feeling he knows exactly how to use it...note, I am not on the Rawr train--lol... that said, I think he didn't realize some of what he does do with it may be damaging... in the end I guess we will figure it out, as I am sure Lukas will be around pretty much till the end-ish...
if I remember correctly the folks last year used a numbering system and only had to haggle if 2 ended up w/1's on the same song...or they gave in... it was not perfect and there were some tiffs(remember the original fight over CAYA, apparently a popular song!)...
Anyway, not to make this about last year...but these folks NEED to work something likewise out. I AM glad they got a little down and dirty this week but this will not go over long term...though it would make for some good drama TV if they all got into fisticuffs over song selection, lol...
but I have made my advanced reservation, just in case, lol ;)
Mostly, I do acknowledge he is a top contender...at this point it seems it is his to lose, whatever I think of him. He gets the primary story line, he is what the internet is all a buzz about, he is the one folks are very passionate about liking or disliking...
I have never been dramatic...wasn't last year...liked Marty and JD almost the whole time, but didn't make up my mind until the half way point...
These reality eps are especially interesting because I think only the crack: obsessed are really watching them... them and the already standing fans of the artists... it is just interesting the little bits that MBP is letting through, how they are trying to mold the story line, yet it seems the true nature eeks out... I am not buying that Lukas is really that controversial in the house. I think a couple of folks that are feeling the most threatened might have a problem with him... can't say I blame them...they are reacting naturally if not very mature, IMO... YMMV and all that:)
I am really interested to hear how CAYA went over. I have not really felt Josh at all this season...and I understand why several people wanted that tune. Hope he pulls it off...it is definitly not one to pull out the soul and whatnot on...needs to rock it, be sensitive, but rock it...
mmm hmmm... The girls for the most part, save Storm, were shown to either be emotional, whiney, bitchy, confrontational, or lacking a backbone...not a good look chicas!!!
The boys were seen laid back and chillin, having a good time, and aggressive...
Now I'm sure MBP does their thing, but come on gals...own your behavior! I would be out by the pool too, after I grabbed my song, lol!

Week 2: Episode #5 The Lambs...Still Screaming...
Magni, HOT! Kinda sad I don't need to apply to be his stylist anymore...hubba hubba, lol...oh yeah, he rocked it tonight too...and yep, T Lee is off his rocker...his comments made me think wtf dude, ho hum...T Lee was off his rocker, lol...
Jenny...the Blondie...Blonde 1, girlfriend, this song, Tainted Love, can be rocking, and just singing louder does not constitute rockin! On the other hand HB...totally brought it...love them!
Jill...the lambs...still screaming, just sayin, STILL!!!!! and now, seeing it, I don't buy the 'this is all mine'...it really 'screams' CL rip off, yep, gotta agree w/Dave, not pretty...just pretty uncomfortable...And snap! Gilby...sheesh!(but I totally agreed w/what he said, more singing less screaming and all that).
Z...Zayra...my Zikes! girl...well, I did not hate it... Gotta say, this chick knows what she is... not sure I could buy it... but, I really love her spunk, and I LOVE HOW SHE gives it to the guys...Diapers, BWAH!Jenny, looks like a total bitch on the side lines BTW...not sure if that MBP editing or what, but it ain't pretty... I wouldn't be terribly disappointed if Z were to go, at the same time, I would love to have the guys have to handle her for another week...
Fluffy Chris...Mr. I am the best singer, EVER! lol...NOT! All I can say is...I'd like someone to take someone out, and one guess who that is...and that JACKET...yike-ohs! BTW, hearing this again, I am really wishing someone else was here...mmmm, hmmm...Yep, I'm a missing someone...
Dilana...brining it from the fires down below...it was Elvira singing in a ring of fire...It was so ODD! but I really liked it...Dilana is still my girl...I am holding steady.
Joshy, my Mr Noxema man...just all kinds of wrong on Arms Wide Open...I like Scott Stapp singing this, and I liked Marty singing it last year...And Josh just leaves me all sorts of underwhelmed during this...I think he was much better last week...This week, the song seemed so much bigger than him...it was strange.
Philly! I love Phil...but, I loved and hated this Tonic tune...though on re-view, I am kinda loving it more...Phil almost makes me wanna vote. I want to see more of Phil. I fear if he lands in the bottom again though, T Lee may not be able to save him...sigh... Something about Phil, I just like him, and I like him more as this song progresses...my little noodle full of jello...I think he really is boneless?!?!? To Jason's point: ...Plant your feet and crush it...love Jason...I understand, he just doesn't get the noodle...sigh...
Storm, I don't have much left to say about Stormy, other than I am so OVER the buggy eyes. But wow, she looks so much younger than her age...good genes I guess. She needs to seriously find a song she can BRING it on, and SOON, or she is going to start losing her base...
Patrice...well, her hair looked less stripey this week...and her over all look was a big jump up from last week...but wow, I can't believe what is up w/her guitar...I agree w/whichever SNer mentioned it...it really distracts me, way too short... and again, I have to say, I've heard way better versions of this song, *coughlastyearcough*...sorry girl, you didn't bring it for me...
Lukas...well, the TV view didn't really do much for me... I think I must really like Coldplay only doing Coldplay or something. Because I just don't get him on this song. It is fine I guess. I don't have any horrible isues with it, I am just still, totally meh...go figure, the Charmer doesn't get to me this week....and I am totally not on to how his 'presence ' is all that...yep, still looks like a crooked drunken walk/stroll across the stage to me...oh well, he has enough loyal subjects for now...I am hoping I can get a place on his train later if he grabs me in following weeks...*crosses fingers*...
Ryan...just because the song has 'jumpin' in it doesn't mean you actually need to JUMP, lol...I feel like Ryan is just trying TOO hard here... Still love him, hope he stays around. I think he is hot, but he really needs to bring a performance I really FEEL or I will not be able to justify him hanging around too much longer.
Dana...Dana, Dana...just not the right show for her...she looks like she is playing dress up as an adult...I love her comeback though...'I even headbanged dude!'...girl...fishnets and headbanging does not a rocker make, just sayin...
Now, the best for last...I am loving me some Tobster...I mean, he is hot(way hotter than last week IMO), and love, love, love him on this song...of course I really like this song, but he KILLS it, in ALL the right ways, lol...And yes, some of his stage stuff is kinda funny, but you know what, I don't care, I totally dug this ...ooh, and he 'likes girls', yippee! lol...sigh...
Ahh, the end...Extra special props to the HB, they totally brought it, as always, but always notable! big *smooches* for them...and the Sners...well, I still love Jason, he's the thinker and all that... Can't wait until tomorrow...
On the Frontrunners...
holy heck, I think WE HAVE ALL lost it, sheeple or no...sigh...I agree and disagree with so many, my head is spinning, lol...A couple of further comments, because that is what we do here...I do get that Lukas is a front runner, whether I am on his train or not, I think he and Dilana, are the ones that folks need to surpass in order to be considered contenders. That said, based on last nights performances, I think that those 2 better check their rear view mirror, because Toby is right there on their ass. I am also thinking Magni may have more of a stake in this competition than I thought last week--but I am holding out further judgement there. I am looking at Storm and Ryan to make a move at somepoint...I feel like they have the goods, but haven't really put it out there yet. Last night really clarified for me, that some of these folks while entertaining to some, even myself(love Phil!!!!!) that they are actually here to more round out the cast than anything else. Was it intended to be that way, or did it just pan out that way? I don't know. And while I get some of the discontent some of you have for 'reality tv'...and while I may share some of it...I absolutely love this show. Did I respect the band more last year? Yes... Do I like the band this year...what band? I like some of the players, namely Jason who actually uses a logical brain cell or two, and I think they have a good producer awaiting them in Butch...so I am hopeful it won't be a total disaster for the winner. And lets not kid ourselves, not winning, while it may garner some exposure for these folks, it is still, NOT WINNING...and the music biz is hard...we are still awaiting records from most of our rockers from last year, some are still trying to chase down record deals, some will likely never get one... it is what it is. I wish them all the best. But crazy or no, SuperNOva or SauvePorn...it is the prize this year...good, bad or otherwise...On a lighter note, have I mentioned again how much I loved Toby last night...I really want him to get the encore...*fingers crossed*...
Week 2: Episode #6 Fluffy comes and Fluffy goes...
I am ok with how tonight went...Kinda had an odd inkling it may be Chris' time...Though, I am not sure, either this week, or last, if the elimination performance was really the deciding factor, but rather the accumulation of observations by the SNers... As such, I kind of think the SNers know who, once the B3 are announced, who they will likely be sending home. Of course I really don't know, I am just supposing. Also, it isn't too much of a stretch to understand that Chris hit B3 x 2 right off the bat... so this can't be that shocking, his elimination. This and that said...I have to say, even though I am more or less on the Zikes! is Yikes! mindset...I have to say, I am kinda getting the Z... She is an odd duck yes... her voice often grates, yes... but she puts it ALL out there. I'm not sure all the rockers are getting that they have to do this EACH AND EVERY time... put up or go home and whatnot.I don't think anyone did badly tonight. I think they all sang for their lives, and for that, I respect all of them. Can't say I am feeling overly snarky towards any of them right now...Oh, I know, did you see the stone cold face on Z when Jill was kicking the shit out of her former song...Zikes! Not good! Jill is singing the shit out of my song...this sucks, what the hell...lol...just my thoughts on Z's thoughts...Also, notice the Charmer had some new shadow...nice. And Toby...babe, seriously, you are not only hot and sound great, you're brilliantly clear thinking...good on ya' mate! And Cheers to you too, *smooch* (notice at the end of his encore, he says 'cheers' *waves* to audience...cracks my shit up, because it is such a contrast from the performance, lol)Sigh...is it next week yet!?!??! I need more crack...this weekly shit is really buggin'....eta...really glad there is much love for the noodle here, aka dirtyPhil... yes, I agree, I want to see Phil hang in there...
I think it is funny...all of the sudden a bunch of us just figured out what planet Z is on/from, we get her...myself included... yet, we all clarify, but we don't actually like her or think she can sing, etc... hmmmm... Well I think the light switch that was already partially on for me before last night, but that clicked fully on to illuminate Z for me last night, is that she is just freaking different. I've said she is an odd duck and she is. In my opinion, she is wildly entertaining. She has that something...it is hard to get in the format we are viewing her through, because I think as some have said, I am pretty sure this is not her wheel house, straight ahead rock... The most admirable qualities of Z are here apparent fearlessness and kick ass attitude. Hey she should be pissed that someone showed her up on one of her former songs...and what did she do...she followed it up w/a balls to the wall take that show of her own. So regardless of my own taste, I now have a huge amount of respect for this chick. Go Z!And I also respect Lukas, though he's not my fave, I understand he IS a frontrunner here...he has I think a good backbone and a true sense of who he is. I am fine with him not wanting to change. Toby's point, I hope the others, though, don't get their backs up and refuse to listen, because honestly, alot of them, need some help. Can you tell I am liking Toby? I think he has a smart little suicide blonde head on his shoulders...
I don't think Z is good because she is weird...that would be warped logic, I agree. I think she is interesting. I don't think she should or would win. I don't think she is a great singer. I do think she has a 'style' that I do now, kinda get. YMMV and all that...some do , some don't, that is ok.As to Chris, I support that he tries. I will even say he is talented. I do think he overestimates his own skills, or at least he presented it that way. I am most struck, that Chris impressed me that first reality ep, in the studio, and then failed to show me anything but either meh, or yikes type of performances and rehearsals. I have listened to some of his stuff from prior to SN, and while I kind of like it, I don't think he has it to go head to head with the leaders in this bunch. Was he better than Z last night? Maybe. But he wasn't going to be right for SN, IMO. In the long run, I think his overall run here for 2weeks, was all he was going to get, as he was hitting bottom for the second time. So I am sad my little Fluffy has to go(I kinda like the curls, even if I do snark on them), but I think it was his time, and is for the best.
I think it is interesting the reactions folks are having this week v last week... some are just as upset/feel wronged, others are, well, feeling better late than never... I am rather meh, shrugged shoulders and all at this point. My opinion, and it is only that, is that SNers should have seriously considered a double elim last week...it would have really kicked off the show w/a bang. I find it telling that Chris went this week. Likely that maybe, he should have gone last week. More so, I think last week they were trying to prove a point: song selection v. SN... This week, I think we do see them playing to the obvious, second time, and you're done. It will be interesting to see if any others survive repeat visits to the B3 or if these dudes only give second chances not thirds. For instance, will a return trip to the B3 guarantee Z's ousting? I agree that SN is a different animal than the BINXS, and they are susceptible to mass opinion, especially if it makes their job easier. We will see how much of it they take in as the competition progresses and the rockers get whittled down. Will the masses and SN ever find themselves at odds? stay tuned...
I agree with alot of what you said re: entertainment and the 'choice' between Chris and Z...Pressed, I am not sure who I would have chosen. I would have likely done a double last week, and if that had happened I might have axed Z this week. Or if Jenny had been there, maybe her...because, she is NOT memorable to me, and as such, can go anytime. I know I should be nicer about these talented folks, but everyone gets to go sometime, and some of these folks are just not up to this job. Whether they were chosen as a contender or to round out the cast, I don't really care. I do believe the compettition is a little broader than the 3 you pick out, but believe if I had to pick just 3 right at this moment, they would probably be the same, so go figure. I for one, do enjoy this show for the entertainment. For me, there are definitely serveral folks that bore me that can go at any time...The final 6 or 7 is where I think things start truly getting interesting from a 'competition' standpoint. I hope the folks I am interested in are there for it.
It's funny, all the critiques leveled against the little guy, Lukas, are so much about pronunciation and whatnot. Honestly, this is not the thing I have issue with him for... Go figure. Nor is it attitude--I really like his in it to win it and nothing else, vibe. I just don't get what everyone is 'LOVING' him for...I mean I get it, I am just not feeling it... does that make sense? I don't get the stage presence. I don't get the hotness. I don't get the 'that was the greatest performance ever' vibe from him, this week anyway. I did appreciate in this elimination ep, his way of answering and dealing with the questions. I do respect him, and I do acknowledge that he is one of the front runners right now. I did find the new eyeshadow color a nice departure as well...See I like to snark and love on him... I am just not 'there' yet. Honestly, I wasn't there for JD until about half way through last year, either...though I did feel his earlier performances. I hope I really start to 'get' one of these cats soon. My wild pick was Dilana, and whether she will or won't hang in there remains to be seen. I am 100% there for who brings it for me, and holds me there. I have no favorites. I can be swayed by the best one there I think. This week, I really thought it was Toby, and I am glad he got the encore.

Week 1: Episode #3...Supa-Bye Bye!
Moving on from snarking on my little Leprechaun Rebel...to this elimination...well I wasn't surprised...what I was was all sorts of loving this...
First my little Charmer, tells our hamsters, eh, dudes, some of you alls *fucking* SUCKED!!!! *smooch* Love ya's just for that!
The encore...my squawkin' Bat-Woman?!?!? you go girl...I'm not scared! Grim Reeper riddle me this...Chicks rock!
Now we are to the bottom of the three(3)...who called the 'brunette' boys?!?!? you were so right (Cheryl I <<know>> it was you!)
First...Fluffy, the Fluffster...what up w/your hair?!?!? Lovely locks, Chris
And then, the Phil-osopher...oy, Philly...cheese steak...what were ya singing!??!?! Ok, it was aeons BETTER than your CoP, which was surely lackluster--eek!...But Switchfoot?!?!? At least you clearly like this song. Much better fit. Glad the SNers like ya'...you and Fluffy are kinda pretty/cute, so I am not destroyed you will still be around to be my friend...and good on ya mate, mackin on Brooke up there...seriously, I saw your moves...nice...you think she's purty...
Finally, my non-Zayra pick to go...Matty, Matt, Matt, Matt...Duran Duran, REALLY?!?!? I actually really liked your take on it, but it was SOOOOOOO not ROIT! not right! Did you not know the SNers ACTUALLY said anyone doing DD was not for them...they really had no choice...sorry babe, catch ya later, rock on...and NEVER, EVER sing Yellow again, and we will be cool...
So now, it is until Monday...we must wait...have I mentioned I am NOT patient?!?!? The crack may be a different strain this year, but I am actually hitting the pipe harder...I think I have issues...oh well, maybe I'll snack on some of the Charms as I ponder who I will *obsess* about the rest of the summer...How many hours do I have to wait until they post the next reality epi?!?!? sigh...

Week 1: Episode #2 . . .WE ARE BACK babes, and it is time to ROCK!
Performance show...sigh...I have been SOOOOOOO waiting for this...
How long has it been? Oh yes, since last September!!!!!
I have snark, I have weee!, I have ear damage?!?!?? LOL, the following is said with much love to and for our hamsters...good on y'all for having the balls to go up there and bust a move...but know, some of you shall be busting a move right back outta that posh little mansion, so drink heartily out of those purty red goblets, drink while you still can!!!!!!
So, my oh my, where to start...
Biggest surprise, I cannot believe I 'like' you: Ryan Star. Wow, really dug his version of Iris. First off, songs I like, are usually the ones I HATE to see covered, lest they suck. Fortunately, I totally felt this version. I find it interesting the contrast of what is portrayed here of our Mr Star, v. the crafty editing of the online reality show. Things that make you go hmmmm... Also, combine this with the live reviews versus what those same folks saw on their TV. Me thinks we are all being a bit set up. I cannot decide which one of us it 'tis. We shall see. As for snark, well...dude, *SMILE*!!! But NOT during the sensitive parts! LOL...before the song, after the song, in the rocker pod...these are the times you are allowed to smile...let us see those pearly whites!!! Rocker Angst face...while you're rocking, dude...just sayin...
Biggest Cringe, ala, am I watching AI?!?!??! Yellow, Matt, just, NO! Sorry, this is where the whole cover thing, for me, was a big *strike out*...Yikes! I *love* this song, and apparently, I *love* Chris Martin singing it...who knew! As for my AI note, I felt as if I was hearing Paula, Simon and Randy...WTF were the *SN dudes* smokin...they liked that?!? Either someone needs to clean their ears, or what y'all heard in the studio, and what I heard on my TV were 2 VERY DIFFERENT things... But whatever, they aren't paying me to make records, sigh ;) As for our dear Matty's non vocals...haircut, just sayin, show us those pretty eyes!
Biggest I cannot believe I am wishing for *Ty & Suzie* to sing these songs to me: My cutie pie Chris, and my without Personality Phil?!?!?! What happened? Well, apparently, Roxanne, hard song? There was so much wrong, I don't know who to feel worst for, Chris or Roxanne!?!?! and Apparently, Ty, had the right amount of Personality?!?!?! Phil, babe, please stick to the hollering, because whatever you were doing did not...it just did not. What happened to your cult, babe? I would follow it, just sayin... But, hey, you both looked good, cuties x 2!
The Snooze factor: Patrice...word to whoever said, well, just word...It ain't pretty. That said, she comes off better when you don't watch. Not sure that is what we are here for though, this is Rockstar, not Vocal All star. I don't know, maybe she will win me over. I hope so. I can't really say anything about her stripy hair or bra/webby sweater ensemble, can I!?!? Nice Tats?!?! For now, I am left meh...not good, not bad, not particulary snarkable...just meh.
Sweet Home...not from Alabama...Dana...What, this is not the AI set...oopsies!!! Pretty girl, nice figure, lovely voice. That's all I'm sayin....
The Iceman cometh...and it was NOT Satisfying...I am sad. I kinda think Magni is a cutie, bald and all. But he should have shed the jacket, and strutted that song out. It requires attitude, not schlumping rocker. Sigh, come on Iceman, I REALLY want to like ya! Hmmm, maybe if I was his personal stylist it would all change? Do ya think!?!? I think I shall submit my resume...
Stayin' Alive, Leprechaun Style...Where is Don Johnson, because I think he wants his WHITE Jacket Back!!!! Lukas...my Rebel Yell boy...less jacket, and STEP away from the keg!...lol...and yet, YOU STILL BROUGHT IT. Lukas really leaves me confused. I liked his presence. I liked his attitude. But, I think he sounds ALL kinds of slurry on the vocals. Am I the only one? But whatever, it still works, more or less. I am very interested to see where my little lucky charm Rebel Boy will take us next. I have a feeling I will get to snark and love on him for quite a while.
So, with that bit of love, lucky charms style, I can now mourn my poor little tone deaf ears, right? Well, whatever, even my ears tried to retreat and escape our dear little Zayra's wails...eek! I am not going to belabor this...but WTF was my *SN dude* crush, Jason, doing, on bended knee!?!?! proposing?!?!? No, just no...it never happened...nope, didn't see it, never happened.
Jenny...wasn't she the sick chick!?!??! I am the firm belief that Tall Skinny Blonde chicks should not sing pop versions of Nickelback. That said, apparently blondes in short skirts are admired?!?!? *shocker* I am chalking this up to whatever. Her hair was shiny, and she seems like a nice person.
Next up, introducing, Noxema Man, 2006...dude, Josh's skin is so purty...does he use pore minimizer or what?!?!?! Seriously, I *hate* him, lol...he has better skin than any of the chicks for goodness sakes! Oh, he sang, he's good, but seemed a bit country rock to me...and what is he, 12?!?!? Anyway, Skin Council of America...call this dude...STAT!
Now it is time, my friends...to venture to the land...Down Unda! For my man, *da' surfer dude*, the Tobster...cuz' he's, knock, knock, knockin' on heaven's door...uhmmm, who's there?!?! Oh, hot strappin' Aussie lad...how goes it mate, ya wanna...oh, sorry, I digress, lol. Anywho, the Tobster, can sing(and sit); and I think the *SN dudes* were likin' him. I predict the Tobster may be a sleeper hit in this pack of hamsters.
Ok, now, who got 'sauce'?!?!? Jill... well this itty bitty bit of blonde ringlets apparently does...And girlfriend can rock it...However, it is just a bit too perky for me. But again, turn away, and she has GREAT voice. I don't know what to make of her. I can't see this little ball of engergy fronting our dudes of testosterone...I can't. But, this little gal has some pipes. And pretty curls, so I gotta love her just a little. Even if she does spin, and go 'wee' all around...I am hopeful she is not also dreamin of rainbows and unicorns...*crosses fingers*
Now, I feel a Storm comin' on...a Storm Large...seriously, that Name, TOO easy, easy...This chick has edge, and I would put forth that she brought it on a song, that did her no favors. She brought it ANYWAY, in fact, IN SPITE of it. I am seriously waiting for this chick to Bring It on a song that matches her vibe. I think she will freakin' blow the roof off. I am looking forward to her blowing up BIG. LOL, and this gal, could teach *Peaches* a thing or two about a proper *eyefuck*, just sayin...and from what I hear(not seen), her and the batshit would have a love triangle going w/the mic/stands and whatnot...yikes-ohs!
Dilana, Dilana...I am backing this chick... I dig her funky, funny looking sqawking chicken rocker chick vibe. She was so intense during her *still* version of Lithium...You knew she was going to explode at any moment...going nuts, you just had no idea...I like her anyway. She knows her style. She knows how to kick ass, her way. I hope she can maintain. That intensity almost scares me...
Overall, I am quite happy with this years batch of hamsters. Can't love them all. But I like quite a few. As one might have surmised, I have 5 faves...Dilana, Lukas, Ryan, Storm, and Toby...I think they all have something I want more of. Not to mention, they will all allow much room for snark, with love, rather than just snark ...and I won't feel so mean. The rest, meh, I hope they have a good time, and get something out of it...
And a special shout out to the McHotties that are still our beloved House Band...I have seen Paul in person...and kablewy...he is hot stuff, lol...And Rafael, sigh, Sasha, double sigh...Jim, I'm a likin...Nate, where'd the flyin whatevers go...oh well, you still kick it back there...These guys continue to amaze me...they bring it on EVERY tune...They are ROCKSTAR...all the hamsters should bow down that these guys are playing for them....
And, last, but not least...our *SN dudes* + PPoD...All hot...Still crushin'on hotstuff Jason: I will forgive you this ONE time, one time...
Until tomorrow...I cannot wait!
As an added note, I *LOVE* how we all are seeing things a bit differently...it is going to be one fun summer.
eta...and *MAJOR* shout out to our own JYM...you are a *STAR*...

Week 1: Episode #1 . . .Is the Online really OUR Reality...
I am dying. I have only watched parts 1 and 2...And I am totally re-addicted. Not fair!
My impressions thus far:
Chris comes off very well here I think; this should help him if he does in fact falter in the performance show (????).
Love Jill, though she may suffer from the big voice from a itty bitty chica thing that Jessica did...hope not.
I think Ryan is trying to pull a 'JD' strategy, and it is NOT HOT! And in the eyes of SN dudes, SOOOOO not working. Of course maybe this all changes by parts 3& 4????? Word to what you said X...you MUST wait until you prove yourself to be able to pull off that kind of attitude...anyway, just NOT feeling him right now; seems a bit of a poseur to me, but YMMV.
*LOVE* Lukas...'I am here to win'...**GAME ON! BABY** ...Lazy??? whatever dude, lol.
eta...Which one was the guy that just hummmed and hollered the whole thing?...loved him too...was that Phil??? Will definitely need to rewatch.
eta again...Did y'all catch the New Sensation(I think Cheryl did) theme music... cha-ching for our BINXS namely Andrew I guess--combine that with the Bally's Fitness deal; nice to have a bit of old to bring in the new Rockstar...Have I mentioned, I *love* this show! Sigh...
On sex appeal versus last years batch:
I think though, it would be difficult to pull off this year...I mean they are put up against, in this arena, the SN dudes; that with all due respect to our beloved BINXS, the SN dudes just ooze SEX, and I mean, by the boatload. While I have come to appreciate the hotness of Our Band, but the hotness that the SN dudes bring, whether they are to my taste or not, is off the charts. As such, I think it is hard for the hamsters to add to that particular component. I think they will have to bring bravado and attitude along with their talent; and suck you into the their fold before we can truly read their hotness meter. Being pretty/cute, this year is simply NOT enough. This year, they will have to BRING it, BIG TIME. I think in this first reality ep, first half, lol, a couple of them did(bring it), a couple, clearly DID NOT. I am interested to see what the trend of opinion is after say wk 2 or 3.
See, they, the *SN dudes*(that is what I'm calling them for the summer, lol) are not really my type, and not what I, personally, would call hot. But what I mean, is more of an attitude of hotness...That is something I think JD had/has, and is developing even more so, shudder, lol. JD is not someone I would normally find hot either, quell *shock*.
In my opinion, YMMV and all of that, the bits, the previews and the Reality ep, along with previous exposure to these guys, well, bringing the hot, was their job in a way. It was/is part of the package, lol. I don't think any of the rockers thus far has tapped into this; though I'm not sure we would have thought any of the hamsters from last season had either at this point...I would put this week as parallel to the 1st ep of RS, remember, manic, hair fucking, kumbaya, thank god I didn't get kicked off JD? He was cute, but I was not feeling the *hot* come off of him at that point yet. He was leaving me cross eyed, as in 'huh???'.
